Havoc by Jamie Shaw

Short review here – bc this was bad juju for me. I cannot stand books where the family is an issue/the issue btw the hero and heroine. While I’ve previously written that I generally need an outside source of tension between our hero and heroine I feel that “family” – posited as an outside source – is actually the ultimate internal issue. Literally all that our heroine had to do was stand up for herself and the person about whom she allegedly cared – and BAM.

But I adore this series. Even with my loathing of a major plot point I remained pretty hooked. I’ve waited for Mike’s book, and I enjoyed him. Hailey had some self-doubt that wasn’t cute. I didn’t like her, but I didn’t hate her. I still absolutely adore this series – this isn’t what I wanted to see for this book, but Jamie Shaw remains an automatic read for me.
