Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling

Not my favorite HP book. As I’ve said before – I think the supporting cast is the best thing about these books, and no one shined in this one. Ron and Hermione was aggravating as hell (both together and separately). Harry had some seriously whiny moments, and no one else stepped up.

The tournament stuff was cool. The tasks and what not. Plus I like Krum. (And the Quidditch World Cup was really cool. Just out of control world building – Rowling remains a beast).

The house elf stuff was wretched. Aggravating and a waste of space. It just makes this book drag for me.

However the end of this book is where the rubber meets the road. It’s freaking on like donkey kong. Time to put on your big girl panties and battle some dark wizards.

(PS – as this is my fourth read you’d imagine I wouldn’t cry, right? I prepped myself. I swore it wouldn’t happen. And then Dumbledore opens his mouth, and I’m a sobby little bitch.)
