Earnest. Adorable. Goofy. Fun. Easy.
My Lady Jane is a historical satire about the Nine Days Queen. With a few, ahem, minor alterations. Like magic. And animal shifters. And changing the course of history.
The three main characters, Edward, Gifford and Jane, were charming narrators. The story flowed easily. The book stayed just this side of silly, and had moments of absolute brilliance. And a very dry wit.
I would recommend this one to a teenager. PG and cute, but still packed with tons of history. It made the 13-year-old dork inside of me gleeful.
